What is OGTAP?
The Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme is managed by OPITO, the skills and safety organisation for the energy industry, and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).
OPITO manage the programme on behalf of the operators – these are companies who own installations and produce oil and gas.
Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) manage the programme on behalf of the contractors – these are companies who provide a service to the operators which includes the provision of technician personnel.
Apprentices will either be part of the programme under OPITO or ECITB. Find out more about the Scheme Management here
